We advise consuming food within three to four hours of loading the Basik box. To ensure your food is not in the danger zone (above 40 degrees Fahrenheit), we advise using the freeze unit that comes with Basik box. For food safety, place the freezing unit in the freezer part of your refrigerator the night before use or at least for 6 hours.

Can I carry soup in my Basik box?

We advise against placing hot soups inside the Basik box containers. Use insulated thermal containers for such food items.

If I don’t like the menu plans on the site, can I build my own?

If you wish to create a menu of your own food choices, of course you may. However, we do not currently offer nutritional information for menus that you create on your on.

Great question. To fit apples or bananas, just cut them. Our containers are designed for foods that fit inside the given space so the container can be covered, which keeps the food fresher longer. Bananas, apples, pineapple, and other large fruit must be sliced or chopped to safely fit inside Basik box.

How much weight can I lose using Basik box and the online menu?

That depends on how much you eat for the whole day. Keep in mind that Basik box is designed to carry one meal only, ideally lunch. Consult your physican before using Basik box as a weight loss tool.

How do you come up with menu plans?
A:
Our menu plans are developed in-house. Our goal is to balance the menu plans for each of the macro nutrient groups: carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. We emphasize fresh fruit and vegetables more than packaged foods, although these are also included as part of the menu plans. We recognize the convenience factor of pre-packaged foods and opt for the healthiest choices when composing our menu suggestions for your enjoyment.

I am diabetic; can I use Basik box?

You may use Basik box if you are diabetic. Our portion containers are great for taking the guess work and hassle out of measuring your food. However, we strongly advise you to consult with your physician before changing any part of your diet, as this is vital to your health.

Why can’t I get a menu for pre-cooked foods like pizza and cheeseburgers?
A:
We advocate fresh fruit and vegetables in our menu plans. While food items such as pizza and burgers can be cut and stored in Basik box, we aim for those foods that are nutrient-dense, so they satisfy over the long term.
